My friends open for new roles
The best people get hired through personal recommendations before they have a chance to speak to a recruiter.
People I know often ask me to intro them to good opportunities, but here’s something new: an email sharing their details and a few stories.
Rana: Product and Engineering Manager
Tom: Community Expert
Anna: International Lawyer
Natalie: Highly-driven Executor
Rana: Product and Engineering Manager
Rana Alqrenawi has a rare combination of skills and experiences. Most recently a Senior Product Owner at Spektrix, and at Zinc VC, Microsoft, Hiring Hub, TechReturners, etc. before that, Rana knows how to manage teams of engineers and products.
What makes Rana stand out, though, is a deep understanding of what it takes to build a truly diverse team where every voice is heard (and how challenging it can be in practice!). As a founder of AspireHer, a tech for good social enterprise, Rana has been empowering women in the tech industry for years, in the UK, but also in Gaza, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
Here’s more details about what Rana is looking for.
Tom: Community Expert
Tom Ross is the community expert in my network of founders. He founded Design Cuts, a community of almost one million creatives, and other communities before, which led him to write an insightful Community Manual, which you should get from his website.
Tom helped my friend Alex Merry build MicDrop, a very successful community of public speakers, which enjoys great reviews from the members. Ever since Alex told me how transformative working with Tom has been, I’ve been quietly jealous.
Get in touch with Tom on tom@tomross.co if you’re thinking about building a community.
Anna: International Lawyer
Anna Nazarchuk has over 10 years of international experience, including at Freshfields, EY and family offices. Currently Anna’s studying at VC University, going deeper into legal aspects of the venture capital world.
What sets Anna apart is her rich international experience that global law firms charge a premium for. She’s based in Amsterdam and works directly with international clients. Find her on LinkedIn.
Natalie: Highly-driven Executor
Natalie Peire gets stuff done. I know plenty of ex-founders who joined other companies, big and small, after leaving their startups and thrived there. Being a founder is a unique skill of knowing that whatever the problem, you can learn to handle it. Having left GASM, an intimacy wellness app she co-founded, she is open to new opportunities. In her own words:
I’m a non-conformist who has been been fortunate enough to spend the first part of my career travelling the world and getting start-ups off the ground. I started in consultancy, working with Diageo and Experian, and have now led teams across various impact industries, including building a retreat centre in Brazil and most recently co-founded GASM, an intimacy wellness app (invested in by Founder’s Factory & Reckitt).
If you need a “get stuff done” person by your side, you should talk to Natalie.
This post is an experiment. I haven’t done it before, I might never do it again. If you like the idea of hearing about people I know looking for new things, click “like” and it’ll help me judge how useful it is.
